How does Kellie actually work?
Kellie is your personal painting assistant. She lives in your pocket, in this site's chat, and in your inbox. You show her your home and tell her your vision. She comes back with a curated paint plan for every surface — walls, trim, ceilings, cabinets — and introduces you to one local painter she trusts. You stay in the conversation the whole time.
Will my warm white pull yellow?
Not on Kellie's watch. The number one complaint we hear from women who've repainted before is "my warm white turned butter the moment the morning sun hit it." Kellie reads the light in your photo before she recommends a white — so the warm white you said yes to at the swatch wall is the warm white you live with at 7am and at 4pm.
Can you do color drenching?
Yes — and we love it. Walls, trim, ceiling, doors all in one tone is one of Kellie's most-requested moves for powder rooms, dining rooms, and home offices. She'll spec the right sheen for each surface so the drench reads luxe, not flat.
What if I want a moody dining room?
Then we'll do a moody dining room. Deep green, oxblood, near-black, brown-black, jewel-tone navy — Kellie has favorites for every direction. She'll also balance it so the room reads cozy and inviting, never cave-like.
How do you make cabinets look factory-painted?
Spray finish, the right primer (bonding for slick surfaces, stain-block for stains), the right sheen (usually satin enamel), and a painter who knows how to mask everything around them. Our cabinet painters are hand-picked for this specific work — Kellie doesn't send the wall guys to do cabinets.
Will my phone start ringing?
Not unless you ask it to. We don't sell or share your information. Kellie introduces one painter, never five. The phone field on every form is optional for a reason.
What if I don't love the colors Kellie picks?
Tell her. She'll come back with another set, or schedule a 30-minute call with our color lead. There's never any pressure to pick something you're not sure about. Sleep on it. Come back next month. She'll be here.
Can I just talk to a human?
Absolutely. Email hello@huetohome.com and a real Cleveland-based teammate will reply. We're a small team and we love a phone call when it's wanted.
What if I want a color that's not in your three?
Bring it. Kellie will work with whatever color you've fallen in love with, source it from the right brand, and make sure it'll behave in your space. She'll only push back if the color truly won't work in your light — and she'll explain why.
How long does a typical project take?
Most interior projects start within 5–10 days of an accepted plan. Whole-house interiors run 3–7 working days. Exteriors depend on weather — usually 1–3 weeks out. Kellie will give you a real timeline before you commit.
Do you handle all the paint, or do I buy it?
We handle it. The paint shows up at your door (or the store closest to your home) on the day your painter starts. You can also bring your own if you have a gallon you love — Kellie will work it in.
Are your painters insured?
Every painter in our network is fully licensed, bonded, and carries general liability ($1M+) and workers' comp. We verify it before they take a single project. Certificates available on request.
Do you do lead-paint testing?
Kellie flags pre-1978 builds and recommends a lead-paint test before any sanding or scraping. We coordinate the test through certified local pros. It's the right thing to do, every time.
What if I'm not sure what I want yet?
Perfect. Kellie loves that conversation. Send any photo, say "I'd love your opinion," and she'll ask the right questions. No pressure to know everything up front.
